Consultation FAQs

Is the consultation free?
Most initial consultations are complimentary and educational. Specific imaging or records review may have a fee, which the coordinator will explain in advance.
How long does the consultation take?
Typically 20–45 minutes by video, depending on complexity and how many questions you have.
Do I need imaging before the consultation?
Not always. Many hernias can be evaluated from history and exam. If imaging is helpful, the team will tell you what to bring.
Will I speak with the surgeon, not just a coordinator?
Yes. The clinical consultation is with a surgeon. A coordinator handles scheduling and logistics.
What if I am located outside the US?
We routinely consult with patients in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Travel and logistics are handled by the patient coordinator.
Is anything I share kept confidential?
Yes. Medical information shared during consultation is treated as confidential and is not shared with third parties for marketing.
